When choosing an area rug, it’s important to choose something that matches the décor in your home, so as not to clash with the rest of the room. Dining Area

Make sure you purchase a rug that extends to the back legs of each chair when each chair is pushed under the table.

Most prefer an area rug in the center, or focal point, of the room. Choose the size rug according to your preference. Remember, the bigger the rug the more “together” all the elements of your room will be.

A good rule of thumb is to choose a rug that is either as wide as your bed, or wide enough to fit under your bed and nightstands. Most people choose the latter, to have a soft space to put their feet on when getting out of bed.

Runners and other small rugs are best used in these spaces that are prone to spills and high traffic.
